I'm attempting to check the fluid level in the final reduction units on my tractor. My owners manual on page 3-32 Figure 49 shows a big honkin bolt that is supposed to be the final reduction filler plug. Says the oil should be to the bottom of the hole when its full. Maybe I'm blind or maybe my tractor is special but that bolt/plug does not exist on my machine. I took the wheels off, I've looked at it from every possible angle, its not there, on either side.
So my question is, how do I check the fluid in the final reduction if the port isn't there to check it? I've checked the fluid at the dipstick on the axle and added just a bit to bring it up to full. Are the final reductions and the front diff all tied together?
Thanks, WVrocks
