TC 33DA Throttle Goes to Max on Start

Hmm.. did you determine if it was a stuck cable holding hte pump lever open or not?

If 'no'... I'd keep a close eye on it as it may be an indication of a pump problem... Like stuck rack.. etc..

Even though the hand throttle was stuck in the idle position, the actual cable was stuck in the full position. Once it warmed up so I could move the actuator and the cable, I flushed the system with WD-40 to drive out any water and lube the cable inside the sheath. Works fine now, even after a couple of cold (low teens) mornings. I've just gotten so used to how reliable this machine is that any problem seems unusual. Not like the days of the '47 8N (original 6V and my wife was never too good with the nuances of carburator flooding on that tractor) when I expected some problems in cold weather, especially if I wasn't the one trying to start it first. Thanks to all who responded!

glad you got the problem solved, had an old ford 2n with 6v and that sucker always started. as uch as i love my new tractor i still miss the sound of that old ford fired up. wish i would have kept it.
