The clutch operates the PTO on the
L3130 HST as well. I use it frequently on my L3830HST to instantly disengage the PTO.
The difference between the
L3830 and NH 35 and NH 40 came down to two main things. I would at least compare the NH 35 and NH 40 to the price of the Kubota
L3830. When I bought mine, the NH 40 was a bit more and is more in the ball park of the
L4330.
1. I felt the hydrostatic drive to be much smoother and quieter on the Kubota.
2. The 3 cylinder engine on the Kubota is quieter and smoother. In fact it was slightly quieter and smoother then my Kubota
L48 with a 4 cylinder. The
L3830 is a 111.5 cu in or 1826 cc while the NH 40 is about 122 cu in. If it has more torque it is not due the number of cylinders, it would be the displacement and other engine designs.
I did not find the plastic on the NH to be a drawback.
If going with the gear model, I can only tell you that our NH 2120 with a 12X12 rarely sees much more then 3 or 4 gears. (medium range 1 or 2 and 4 and high range 6) High range is infrequently used and low is almost never used. You can get optional creeper gears for the Kubota GST, what the need for the typical user would be is unknown to me.
Both tractors are very nice and I'll add that what you decide will not be a bad decision.
