TC 40A Pricing

I have a co-worker who is looking at a tractor and asked if I thought it was a reasonable price. I'm not sure so I was looking to get some opinions. Also wondering if there is anything in particular to check when he goes to look at it. I copied this from the add:

2004 FORD NEWHOLLAND TC40A 4wd WITH 164 HOURS (LIKE NEW), INCLUDES FRONT LOADER, REAR SCRAPER, PTO, 72" AG-MAX TILLER, BACKHOE ATTACHMENT, AND LAND PRIDE POST HOLE DIGGER, ASKING $24,000.00 FOR EVERYTHING

We need to know if it is a 16LA NH loader and if the Backhoe is a NH or some other brand, especially if it is a 3PH mount or sub-frame mount. I know the hours are low, but you can't get around that it is a 6-year old tractor. The tractor by itself is probably worth around $12,500, so the type of loader, and backhoe will contribute a bunch to the value. Knowing the brands and type is absolutely necessary to evaluate the asking price. My feeling is that if they are NH, then a $22k offer would be good. If they are not NH, then maybe $20k. However, if the tractor is pristine, the loader and BH are NH, and the clutch, transmission, PTO, and hydraulics seem strong, $24k could be a decent buy.

I'm fairly sure that the backhoe and loader are New Holland. Everything was bought at the same time and it has been stored inside. Thanks for the pricing info.

Dealers have a "blue book " value guide for equipment. Ask them to look it up or go to the bank and ask about a loan. They will quickly put a value on it as to how much one could borrow on it and retail as well.
If its a 2004 to me its 8 model years old in a couple months.
Price out the new equivelent also which should make one feel alot better about this price.
