I was given a bid for a tc 40d with a 72" heavy duty bucket, is this to big of a bucket for this tractor size?

Lee, given that the smaller TC series come with the 60" bucket, the larger TC40 should handle a foot wider bucket. My TC 29 has no trouble with a full bucket of wet topsoil. The more I think about it the more it just makes sense to have a larger bucket on that TC40. I am not familiar with the specs on the new larger Boomers, but you might want to compare the overall width of the smaller TC's to that of the 40. Good luck.

I have a TC45D, and the tractor has the 17la loader. I have the 72inch HD bucket. The tractor handles it without any problems. It will lift as much as I can heap up in the bucket. James
