I have a TC-40D that has had just about every issue that is common to the Boomers. I just want to give a shout out to those who helped me:
Overfull crankcase - this one really scared me, but JC-Jetro and Jinman put me on the right track to replace the hydraulic pump seals. Problem solved.
No crank, no start - search function really helped here, as i had the dreaded PTO light on, and again, Jinman put me on the right track by replacing the fuse with a self-resetting c.b. (which I finally bought after replacing the fuse 3 times).
Cold running TC-40D. - - This one has puzzled me since I bought the tractor. I finally ran across the applicable threads, vice-gripped the bypass hose to test the theory, and voila!, lil blue started warming up like she should in 45 degree weather. Shutoff valve now installed. Thanks, tpaulsen and again Jinman.
No glow plug on starting - intermittant glow plug light illumination while running........... a search turned up PineRidge's comments, among others, so I ordered the timer relay from Messick's and (of course) fixed the problem.
It's amazing how much money I have saved in repairs from the above posters' professional and freely given advice and counsel. Thanks, guys, and thanks, TBN!
