New Holland TC40D
I'm suffering tractor withdrawal./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Took my 40D in back in January for the 50 hr service and to take care of the leaking battery and coolant drain fititng leak. That was over a month ago and still haven't got it back. The new radiator and block fitting are on back order with no schedule for them to come in. The dealer offered to put it all back together, as was, so I could still use the tractor and call me when the parts come in, but getting there and back is too much trouble. At least my dad's been kind enough to allow me to to borrow his (my old) 1720 for the time being. The reason for my post is, everyone should be aware that NH is having trouble getting parts for the coolant leak fix, and if your battery leaked and ruined your radiator, a new radiator also. Apparently, with the two problems there's been a real run on the parts. I'm usually understanding, but this is ridiculous! /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

You don't need to put up with that kind of poor service. They should temporarily fix the leaks now and then take care of the transportation later to install the new parts when they come in. I'll make sure thay have the new coolant fitting for mine before they come to pick it up. My TC29D might have a different part though, so I might not have the backorder problem. Thanks for the warning!

Duane, when I took my tractor in for a new radiator and misc. pieces ruined by battery acid, my dealer ordered the parts and had them available before the tractor got there. It took only one day to get my tractor back. I think if I were you, I'd write New Holland and remind them that a warranty is only as good as parts availabity, and that's not satisfactory at the moment./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Ask your dealer for a loaner tractor, mine offers me one if I have a problem but they usually have it fixed in a day or two so I have never bothered to take it. It won't hurt to ask them and the might do that instead of wasting time puting your machine back together just to tear it back apart again. Later

Thanks for the suggestions. I really don't need a loaner as my folks are vacationing in FL and his (my old) 1720 is free for use. Talked to the dealer service manager and then owner yesterday and they say NH is in a crisis mode on these radiators. Seems there are none available anywhere in the US and the soonest some will be is expected to be March 15. They want to get the tractor out of their shop just as bad as I want it back.

this is a typical New Holland response. This really makes me angry when we have a part problem like this. When as a dealer you know they have hundreds of them at the assembly plant and could easily ship one from there! I am sorry you have to see the down side of New Holland. Sometimes they forget what customer service is all about.
