I actually have a Case DX45, but was wondering if any of the TC owners have any insight in to adjusting the throttle lever? It had been super tight before so I loosened the nut on it and found a sweet spot that is loose enough for easily adjusting it, yet snug enough that it will hold RPM. Since I have purchased this tractor the first half of the throttle lever adjustment is just dead space. It doesn't start adjusting the RPM's until it's about half way up. At full throttle I am just above PTO speed or sometimes right at it. I was wondering if this was normal or if there was a way that it should be adjusted so that it begins changing the RPM once you start to raise the lever. I appreciate all of your help.

Does anyone have any tips on this? Is there a way to adjust the cable so that it is at regular idle when all the way down and begins to idle up once you start raising the lever? Or is it normal on these TC tractors to have that much free play in the throttle range? Thanks!

On my TC33, the square under the head of the bolt, that fits in a square hole in the bracket started getting a bit sloppy. If you wanted just a small amount of throttle adjustment, the lever would creep down and wouldn't hold. The bolt needed to be held in one place for the throttle to be finely adjusted. Under the head of the bolt I welded a tab of metal ~3/4 x 1.5 and secured the other end with a small bolt. That kept the bolt from turning so I could loosen the friction a bit and have precise adjustments.

Make sure the cable end is secured. Sloppiness in the cable, or its attachment, will cause the throttle to have hysteresis.

To clarify: I made a rectangular fender washer with 2 holes. The throttle pivot bolt through one hole and a securing screw in the other hole. The bolt needs tack welding to the "washer" and you need to drill a hole for the screw. The material was only about 0.040" thick.
