NH TC 40 A, AC 5020
Guys, I sure like my TC 40 A. It is so much more tractor than my old AC. At 8 hours though, I knocked the left turn signal light off driving under some manacured Black Jack Oaks. I didn't feel like there was anything that should have dislodged the light, but it did. Those Blackjacks are tough buggers though and one of the droopy branches reached out and snagged it. I was worried about those light when I bought it, and I was right. Anyone know if the turn signals just unplug so I can remove them? I'd rather just get them off because I never see me using them, but if not, I may have to beat Mike (Pineridge) to custom fabing something for the class II's. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I didn't have time to check out the unplugging part before I left the tractor.

Man, These tractors are fast too. I tried BHing a pasture in H2, which would have been no problem with the AC, and decided I would need a kidney belt if I was going to continue to do that. It liked to bounce me out of the seat.

I sure like the lift on this TC too. My old AC would about lift the BH off the ground 6". This thing will put it up 2.5'. Makes it much easier to check on things under the deck.

Thanks for following along. MP

Yes, they unplug...and both fit nicely in a large shoebox marked "Open and install before selling tractor." /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

So...was the blackjack awarded a home run or a ground rule double? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It was more like a foul ball Jim. The light came off surprisingly easy.

Thanks for the reply. It's tough not being where the tractor is. I think I'll pull them off then. It's a lot less work than building a guard. MP

You've just duplicated my experience with those lights exactly. Was worried about 'em from the get - go .... caught one on a branch - removed 'em both on the spot and they haven't been back on since. That was in 2001. They're sitting around in the shed somewhere. Hopefully when I get a barn up I can get organized and all the stuff for the tractor will be in one place. The toughest part about living where the tractor ain't is: we can't do 1 - 2 hrs of work in the evenings, we have to "store" the equipment each time we leave it cause it may be awhile before we get back to it, and it takes precious time out of the weekend to "unstore" it and "store" it again after. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

NH and the other manufacturers have really missed the boat in this latest round on the light placement. Apparently, in an attempt to get the lights higher, they've forgotten how people really use their machines. At least with the earlier TC series the lights were down near the fenders, which at least for me has offered a fair amount of protection.

I've replaced one of mine that was broken by a branch.. I was thinking of getting a guard welded to the rops.. or trying to remount them inside the ROPS.

Sounds like a common problem. I thought that Bradford pear tree that took out the left light on my TC33 just didn't like me. JB Weld cured the problem. Once. The next time, the lights just had to come off. I'm not fighting that same problem forever.
Surprised NH hasn't addressed this simple fix... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
