TC18 First Impressions

First impression is that the LandPride RFM is great in open spaces, sucks in tight areas. My back is sore from looking backwards. I'm sure I'll be an expert by the time the MMM comes in!

First casualty is the picket fence that I took out with the FEL /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

So far about 5 hours added to the meter. Mowed the lawn, dug up three stumps, and played around trying to grade a couple of soon to be lawn areas. I Need more practice with the Rear blade.

Surprise of the day was the nifty little toolbox behind the seat.

Congratulations on your new tractor. I hope you end up enjoying it as much as I enjoy mine. Be careful about the attachments, you might end up wanting them all. I like my toolbox too, I just went out today and bought a Craftsman toolbox to mount to the back of my riding mower.

Glad you're having fun other then the fence. The first time I backed my tractor into the shed, I almost took the door off with the FEL. Its hard to judge where the end of it is at first, but you'll catch on. I like my MMM for mowing. I never had a RFM, but I could see how it would be hard on your neck. Have fun, and be safe. Kent

I used the RFM some more last night. I had cut the thicker parts of the grass high on the first pass & went back last night to finish the job.

I think I am getting better at using it. In the tight areas I use it like a front mounted mower that has the seat & steering wheel facing the wrong way.

The gating factor now is overall length of the tractor + mower. It is tough to turn the machine around in small spaces.

I went in to work early this morning so I could get home this afternoon and work on some more stumps.
