I have a TC21D, was moving brush today, stopped and turned off the key. Went back a few minutes later and nothing..... I checked gear selector, was in nuetral, checked the pto levers , they were both off. Then I noticed that none of my dashlights were working. So I checked the fuses on the right side of the chassis, they were fine. Checked the battery, it seemed ok. Even tried to jump start with my truck.... nothing. Have I missed a major fuse somewhere that is located in another place away from the 5 fuses? Or do I possibly have some other issues?

Thanks for any replies.

headlamps turn on.

I question your comment of 'battery seems' ok..

I've seen a battery show 12v on a meter but as soon as you hit it with a load it drops to 0.000v... bad cable ends will do it to.

post back some more info.

Look for a "master fuse" by starter. Make sure some brush did not unhook and pto safety switches under fender.

I tried jumping it with the truck, so the battery shouldnt be the issue. I checked all of the usual suspects ( the tranny and pto switches) they seemed intact. Usually, I will still have dash lights of some type when those switches are the culprit. I have zero lights anywhere. Its as if there is no power to it at all.

I looked for a fuse near and around the starter, am unable to find one anywhere on the left side of the tractor. Is it hidden in a certain spot?

I really hate to call my mechanic back out this week to replace a fuse... he was just here sunday showing me the proper way to bleed the fuel system... who knew?

I had this type problem once after doing some bush hog work. I found two wires unplugged underneath the tractor. The tractor will not start with the PTO turned on and with the wires unplugged the sensors indicated it was on. Mine is a DX33 and the wires were underneath the tractor in the area of the seat/transmission area.

Just to clarify.... There are no loose wires, the safety switches are intact. I have no electrical power anywhere on the tractor. Before, when I had safety wire related problems, I still had power to the dash and headlights. It just wouldnt crank.

I checked all 5 fuses on the right hand side of the tractor. Havnt found any fuses on the left side of the tractor.

Battery checked 12v, even tried to jump it with my ford diesel ( 2 battery system ) nothing. No headlights, no dash lights, couldnt even hear the glow plugs click. Cleaned the terminals, cables, where it grounds to the frame.... nothing.

Is there a hidden fuse somewhere that ive overlooked? If so, any ideas exactly where it is?

You might want to check the ground connection, If there is no fuse blown the only thing that is common to the whole tractor would be a main ground connection. Check battery voltage terminal to terminal, then check battery voltage hot to Frame ground. let me know if that helps?

If you have no electrical power at the fuse box.. but do at the battery.

Check the ground, and then find the wire feeding the fuse box.. might be a fuesable link in there.. or bad wire / bad connector. I'm not familiar with that tractors electrical system.. but there will be a wire feeding the fuse box.. check it and 'follow' the volts..

If you think you are going to be doing a lot of your own repair work, I would recommend getting the repair manual. It has a wiring diagram. I just checked the New Holland Tech Pub web site New Holland North America: Parts & Service and it is available for $83.41 on CDROM. Manuals for out of production tractors seem to be cheaper than for current models. The part number is 86590938-CD. I have one and would send a pdf of the wiring diagram, but the security protection on the CD doesn't seem to want to let me save it off as a file, only print it out on a printer. It is a lot more easily viewed zoomed in on the screen.

Guy.
