tc24 stalling out...?

I had a couple of instances of my 24 stalling when it was new. Took me a couple of times, but I finally realized the owners manual (the dealership had given me another one because they couldn't find mine) was still stuck up in the insulation of the hood. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifThe bag it was in was pinching off the air intake and then finally getting sucked into the air intake suffocating the tractor. Removed that and haven't had a stall since. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

FEL performance is directly correlated to engine performance through the hydraulic pump which drives HST tractors and provides all FEL power through hydraulics.

Try lifting a heavy, full bucket at full throttle, then try lifting the same full bucket at idle.

Jim - mine fell out after two years during a thorough cleaning! I was wiping the motor when it fell and hit me in the head! Dealer provided one on delivery and I just never looked up when the hood was raised during oil checks. It never choked out the air intake, so I've got that going for me.

Speaking of manuals... Manufacturers seem to love to hide them in the strangest places.

When i got my 10' mower.. I got no manual from the dealer.. said he didn't have any.. ( I ordered one from the manufacturer ). Anyway.. First time i fired up the mower.. my manual comes shooting out the rear of the mower.

After shutting down, I looked under the mower after the ejection of the manual cause it came out as a white puff. My first thought was i had sucked in one of my chickens /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Then I see the piece of tape on the stump jumper..... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Like they expected someone to crawl under that 2500# mower and get the manual from the stump jumper???

Yep, the manual for my little 4' KK was under cutter as well. I wouldn't have found it for a long time but I had the mower up in the air and the front of the tractor pulled into a ditch so the back of the mower was up probably 4 or 5 feet and then I was walking back up hill to the tractor and there it was hanging down. I was able to salvage most of it, there are some pages though with a fair amount of them missing. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Nothing that I wasn't able to "fill the blanks in on though."

RPMs? I hope that this dosn't sound silly. I have stalled my TC 40D (hst) a few times when I didn't have the engine running fast enough for the work I was doing. I didn't think that you could stall a hst until I did it the first time. Working on a slope requires more power make sure that the engine is running at its rated RPM.

I was told that he hasn't had any issues since this was posted. His dad was driving and thinks he may have been leaning forward while backing up.
Dan's butt is VERY large, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif so I doubt he will have the same issue /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm sure it was just the emergency shutoff switch. Bob Skurka was right. Thanks everyone for the great advice.
Maybe Rico304 can find a tractor of his own. Remember Rico304 an extra wide seat cost more /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
