New Holland TC24DA
I think i posted in the wrong spot, so ill repost here.

Hi, i have a TC24DA (2005, i think) with a little over a 1000 hours. Today, i was moving some snow for a friend. My tractor started dying and i think it was due to a loose connector on the fuel shutoff switch. It would almost die, then run fine. It would die, but i couldn't restart it. Then, it died and the starter wouldn't work. I jumped the starter and it cranked just fine, but wouldn't fire. So, i started doing a diagnosis. Here's what I found.

Turn the key on and all the gauges and lights work... except the glow plug light (it worked a few minutes before). I am getting power to the glow plugs though.

Power at the safety switches (PTOs, etc), but no grounds - the trouble light would light when ran to chassis, but not with the return wires.

No power to the fuel shutoff now. And, no power to the starter relay from the key switch.

I ran jumper wires on all the safety switches, just in case, but no help. Any ideas?

Do you have wiring schematic for your tractor? if so can you post it here?

This is just a guess, but it almost seems like something with your key switch.

I have a TC29DA, and I am looking at my wiring diagrams. Assuming they are similar enough...

Can you say exactly where you tested for power at fuel shutoff and starter relay?

The fuel solenoid (#4 below) is connected to the injector pump.

But this is controlled by a relay under the right cowl (#1 below).

I would test at both places. You should get power from the key switch coming into pin #4 of the fuel shutoff relay through fuse #5 (again, for my tractor).

But big picture, if you have problems with fuel shut-off AND the starting circuit, I trace both of those all the way back to the ignition switch. That is the only thing I see in common with a problem in those two places (other than the main fuse). If you want to replace the ignition switch (the OEM part has a bad reputation for quality on these boards), several of us have replaced with NAPA P/N KS6600:

There are posts on this board, even recent about how to do this.

Good luck!
