TC25D
I recently purchased a TC25D with a 72" Rear discharge MMM with around 2000 hours. I really enjoy mowing with it.
I am glad I found this site as I have learned a lot about the tractor & how to maintain & adjust different parts.
I am wondering if I have the correct deck for the tractor. Someone wrote in marker on the deck that it was off a TC33D. It seems like my tractor is too short. How much taller is a TC33D than a TC25D?
Can you put a 72" Rear discharge MMM on a TC25D?
When I have the deck locked in the transport position I only have around 3" of clearance between the ground & the front deck wheels. Also when I mow at a 3 1/2" cutting height I am not in the cushion float zone on my 3 pt lever.
I have looked at a 60" mower & the front pin location is around 2 1/2" closer to the deck surface than on my 72" deck.
Does anyone else have a TC25D with a 72" Rear discharge MMM?

It seems like I could drill new front holes at the same height as the 60" Deck. That would give me more clearance & put my 3 pt lever in the cushion float zone but not sure what kind of geometry that may change as I raises & lower the deck and still keep it level for mowing.

Thanks for any info.

I have a 72" MMM on my TC33

that deck is 914A.

mine only has about 4" of clearance when fully up. (pinned or otherwise)

bout the best pic i can come up with at the moment. (this is pinned up)

in the manual (and on my deck) it will tell you what to set the wheels at for various mowing heights.

Maybe someone else will jump in and confirm this. But aren't the 25/29/33 and now the 31/34 all Class II Boomers meaning they are on the same frame size the only thing that changes is the engine?

I have a TC24 w/ a 60" RD MMM. When it is in the pinned up position I only have 3 or 4" of ground clearance. I have an area of my property that I won't take the tractor on if I have the MMM on. I also find that I'm out of the cushion zone on the 3PH when I'm mowing. I've recently been pulling the 3PH back up a little bit. Doesn't really raise the deck but takes some of the weight off the wheels so they don't dig in as bad. Have especially needed to do this as I've lossed the bearings out of one of the wheels and I haven't had a chance to replace them yet. I'll do it by spring though as the bearing kit is $18 and the entire wheel assembly is around $45 list price.

MT,

New Hollands current specifications for thier MMMs show the only mower they list for the TC25 as a 914A Side Discharge at 60" wide. I have a TC33DA with the 72" MMM rear discharge and have no problem keeping the lever in the "float range." When raised at full height I have about 4" clear to the bottom of the mower deck.

if you have a manual for the deck it will tell you it should be adjusted so that some of the weight is carried by the 3pt arms at all times, even when its "down" (to help prevent the wheels from digging in like you mentioned)

Problem is, what is "some"? I had the 3pt arms carrying "some" now I have them carrying "some more".:p

the manual reads something like, lower it... then pick it back up till you see the deck move. mark that postion on the 3pt handle and thats were you are to use it.

the series of springs and whatnot as part of the (soft lift) or whatever the h3ll they call it will need some adjustment over time, so its not a set it and forget it.
