TC29 mid-mount mower

Hello,

I have a TC29DA which I use mostly for mowing. For that I have a 6ft Woods rear-mount, which I like. I'm a believer in redundancy (and a good deal), so I'm considering getting a mid-mount mower for it too. (The wife may prefer that as well.) The stock New Holland P/N that my accessory brochure lists is a 914A, rear or side discharge. I see a couple I like locally, one private sale and one dealer. The dealer does not list the TC29 as a tractor this fits onto. I sent them a question, but thought some folks here would know just as well, or better. The tractor has Industrial (R4) tires, if that makes a difference. It is pretty high, and I've never mounted a mid-mower, except on a garden tractor. Does the 914A fit, or is there something I don't know? Also, any comments on ease of attaching/removal? Thanks in advance!

914a is the mid mower for all TC's 84" rear discharge ,60 and 72 side discharge fit TC 29 DA . You just got to make shure the bracket kit is right.:drink:

I had a 914a deck on my 1999 TC33D that had supersteer and turfs. I would park the tractor on concrete and set the brake, then lift the front tires off the ground with a hi-lift jack lifting on the front frame. That allowed more room for the deck to slide out. I never had a problem with the 914a as long as I had it. I had the 72" side discharge deck. I removed the metal chute so it wouldn't windrow and it laid the grass out very nicely.

Running Tc26da with 60 914a rear discharge it is a nice mower no complaints. Rear discharge mulches the grass fairly well. No scalping has excellent wheels, deck floats. Keep in mind the 914 series is out of production you could get lucky find low hour deck. It is a heavy deck and will last a lifetime if you grease bearings and keep eye on gear box. Good choice on mower deck.
