TC29D broken pto

Im looking at a 2000 TC29d that a man has for sale,,the pto is not working,,he said his son hit a tree root while using a tiller and broke something in the tractor,,the price is reasonable, was just looking at a parts breakdown and they are quite expensive,,just wondering if anyone has had this happen,,

My father-in-law has a TC29D, and parts are very expensive and hard to find. He broke the frame and bell housing last summer while moving a sand pile and it took a long time to find the bell housing. I think that comes with owning a 20 year old tractor.

I was looking at an on line supplier and looks like the parts are avail,,just a little hesitant to jump in,,could turn into a money pit unless theres a weak link in this sytem,,I was hoping someone had run into this before,,looks to me like the tiller shoud have had a sher bolt but I wasnt there when it broke
