New Holland TC29DA
I have a TC29D that has had intermitten starting issues since I bought it. Dealership cleaned contacts on ignition switch and said that would fix it. Was mowing yesterday, stopped and killed tractor, went to restart, battery was low, engine cranked but would not start....while cranking, all stopped, no lights, no instrument lights, no relay clicking...nothing! tried jump starting...and still nothing...checked all fuses including main and all good...ANY IDEAS?

Start with removing, cleaning, and reattaching the battery cables. A poor connection can mean you aren't getting good charge. Or, the belt is loose. Or, the battery is dying. Start with easy stuff.

Aso check to be sure your speed range is in Neutral as well as your transmission in neutral and PTO must be off...all have safety switches....

I agree with all the abovementionned advise. Relay switches can be a challenge. Intermittent starting is a common problem with the TC 29 Series according to my dealer. It could be Fuse #2 (10A) alternator, Safety Start Circuit. I replaced that fuse with a 10A circuitbreaker fuse. That helped me. I hope this helps.

Check main fuse by starter motor. By firewall in a holder. pull and clean ( or replace) alll fuses on firewall fuse box; when replacing, use dielectric grease on them. If you have time; remove shroud under steering whell ( 6 bolts - two under wheel; two on firewall each side) remove and clean contacts on all relays, etc; dielectric grease them.
You may want to add the relay that eliminates voltage drop to starter because of safety circuits ( see sticky note at top of this page)

Replaced battery, all fuses at firewall replaced, checked main fuse (40a) good. Pulled all relays, checked good. Pulled ignition switch, checked good....found burnt wires on flasher module, not sure if this is in safety circuit or not...only indication of problem Icould find. Dealership ordering new relays and key switch, will call today to add flasher module to order!...Dazed and confused! tractor acts like no battery at all....but measured 12v to keyswitch....

Check all wiring under left rear wheel; under PTO; range selector side. I have seen safety circuit (PTO) wires pulled apart by brush. Check all safty switches on range selector; PTO ( both mid and rear) I think PTO switch is in differential case.

"safety circuit (PTO) wires pulled apart by brush" has been problematic for me. I also adjusted (lengthened) the clutch linkage. This may help those safety switch contacts contact.

I had those issues last year and re-worked connectors. I will check the PTO in the diff box. I am stumped at this point...the tractor was cranking over but battery was low when all of a sudden, everything went dark....no clicking noises like you would expect when battery cant turn over starter....just as if someone cut the battery cable.
