This a potentially embarrassing admission, but I cannot find any grease fittings on the 3-point linkage. My manual says to lube the linkage every 50 hours, and implies that there are fittings for doing so.

What have I missed? I have searched this site, but no one else seems to have had any trouble, except there is some disagreement about whether to apply grease on the balls.

Some oil or grease the balls in the ends of the lower links, some do not.
The front end of the lower links are hinged on some pins. I guess some folks oil those, too.
The top link and one or both side links are adjustable and usually have grease fittings on them.
Of course, the top link usually has the ball swivels in one or both ends.

And just off hand, that's about all I can think of right now.

You're not missing anything - the manual implies that there is a grease fitting on the three point. But there is NOT a grease fitting on the three point.

As bird mentioned - some lube the balls on the lift arms, some don't. So far, I haven't, but they do rust up in the winter (snowblowing) and sieze. The reason not to grease them, is it attracts dirt in the summer. Hmmm - maybe I should lube them in the fall, and wipe it off in the spring...

Uh-oh.. you know what happens when you make absolute statements like that! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Some jerk (me! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) comes along and points out a couple grease zerks.

Lets see.. my adjustable lift arm on both of my Nh tractors ( 1920 , 7610s) has a zerk on the lower yoke, and on the 'gear' portion of the crank. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My MF is the same way, as was my last MF.

My 1630 has at least three zerks on the three point.

Let me re-qualify. On MY TC18, the manual implies there are grease fiitings, when, in fact, there are none.... [insert "your milage may vary" legal disclaimer here] /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

So your tc-18 adjustable lift arm ( hand crank). has no grease zerk? really? How do you lube it? or is it a throw away and replace when the warranty is out kinda part??? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

SoundGuy is right the zerks on the 3-point leveler is the only place I grease on the 3-point of the TC-40D.

My TC18 has no hand crank. The adjustable side is a turnbuckle. Requires owner supplied wrench.
