When did you last check or change your Hydraulic oil Filter....mine had a screeching sound and I changed the filter and the problem was fixed...but it was also 300 hrs. so I changed the hydraulic oil as well....be sure you are using the right hydraulic fluid....that's all I have experienced ...I'm sure others here will give more advice...good luck..

Can you be a bit more specific about the "loader noise?" If the loader is squawking when moved, it may need a good grease job. If the noise is hissing/screeching from the joystick area, this could be the valve or it might even be something as simple as a rigid line a bit loose in its clamp and vibrating as fluid goes through it. Certainly, the power steering reservoir has nothing to do with the loader. If you have noise or hard steering when you try to turn the front wheels, that's the steering system. The main hydraulic reservoir is in the transmission/differential case and the reservoir fill is back by the 3PH toplink area; normally a fill on one side and a dipstick on the other. If the noise has started just since colder weather started, you might get it to stop by going with a lighter synthetic fluid. New Holland sells the fluid, but it is very expensive. Do you know what brand of fluid is in your system? If someone used something other than New Holland Multi-G 134, then that could be the problem also.

Not sure what temp you are talking about but most loaders will make "some" noise while cold, till they warm up. If you are not original owner and not sure what fluids are in uni, my suggestion is that you change fluid and filters to make sure you have spec fluid in it. I would also change engine oil and filter.

Hi, I'm interested in this thread because I recently bought a 1988 1630 HST and put a clutch in it, changed all the fluids and filters, did the coolant by-pass fix as was described in " Boomer problems" etc. My loader now squeals like it has air in it, (maybe from the joystick valve body?) only while lifting the arms, not curling or any other operation. Seems to go away after warm up. Tractor lives in a heated shop. (lucky tractor!) I've wondered if air is somehow accumulating while parked and dispersing after being run a while
