How much weight does a front end loader weigh on a New Holland TC30 tractor?

If I buy a tractor without the front end loader, how much weight should I have up front?

Will the weight that I install up front be just as effective as the weight from the loader?

I believe that too much weight can over a period of time do damage to the front end.

Your comments would be appreciated.

I've got 5 weights on thr front of my 1720 which is close in size to your TC30. Those weights come in at around 150#. I think that the 7308 FEL is rated at 800# for the TC 30. I would assume that anything under 1000# on the front axle and you would be ok.

The FEL will give you more front end weight than just weights. You will need to add weight to the rear end of the tractor with the FEL.

The Manual says put 3-50# weights up front

What are you going to be doing that would require additonal weight up front? I opperate my TC30 without loader. Picks up 5 ft mower, tiller without getting light on the front at all.

My 1720 (predecessor to the TC30) and now my TC-40D both required front weight (no loader). In fact, my 40D still needs more even with 4 weights, so I'm thinking of loading the front tires. I think I had 4 or maybe 5 on my 1720, but they may have been a little smaller. I'd put all I could fit on your TC30. The only time I ever felt, or feel today, that there is no need for weight is with nothing on the back. Those little diesels just don't weigh anything. You'll probably never be able to add as much weight with suitcase weights or loaded tires as you'd have with a loader, so don't worry about any long term damage. A loader, with all it's framework and bucket contributes far more weight than anything you can add.

I especially notice the need when going up a bit of a grade with anything hanging on the 3-pt. The front tires are barely touching the ground!

My tractor is a bit smaller than yours (TC 26DA), and I can't find a weight for the loader, but the bucket itself is 220 pounds according to the manual. The whole loader empty has to go at least 7 or 8 hundred pounds, which is more than the 150 pound maxed out front weights by a long shot.
