Hi, Have a tc30 w/3334hours bought used from nursery who only used to pull wagons[little old lady joke here].
The unit was clean and i added a NH front loader and all was well for 2 years and 100 hrs.
Yesterday after lubing and washing dust off started the tractor and ran fine for 10 minutes then died, looked to see what I did and nothing, attempted to restart but engine would not fire.
Checked fuel,ok pulled unit into garage to trouble shoot, found 5amp fuse blown, replaced blew again, found bare wire at seat switch, repaired, installed new fuse,ok.
Attempted to start, would not fire, took off wire to fuel solenoid found no power to it when ignition is energized, coil at solenoid ohmed 13,jumped coil to 12v,cranked and engine started momentarily then died.
Checked and cleaned fuel filter and loosened fuel line to inj.pump, fuel here.
The manual that I was given is dated 10/04 my ser.# is 10150 making it a 2001 model and the wiring is vastly differant so I cannot trace power.
What I need is a wiring diagram for this model and ser,# and any input on what the problem may be.
Thanks, Dave North in Wash. State.

The engine started only the one time when the fuel solenoid was directly energized and there was a decent amount squirting out of the injection line even after the engine would not start again?

If issue happened after washing, is it possible a switch or relay got wet and is not working?

Sure it is possible that a switch or relay is wet, but energizing the diesel solenoid directly bypasses all of that.

I think it's more likely that the engine running caused vibration that loosened the connection to the fuel solenoid. With a known 12 vdc operating the solenoid, all the other electrical stuff should not cause the engine to quit. I'd take the solenoid out and see if the tractor starts. When you power the solenoid, the plunger retracts. Removing the solenoid does the same thing, but you have no way of shutting off the engine until you screw the solenoid back into the hole or use a small screw driver as a plunger. With the solenoid removed, make sure it stays retracted and does not heat up and then open, letting the plunger extend. A faulty solenoid that's opening due to heat could cause this problem.

Trying these in the Am. Thanks,Dave

The tc33d problem was quit differant than this in that mine{tc30} has no problem turning over with a 12.6vdc battery and the safty swicthes are not in play here.
Thanks, Dave

Still have no power to solenoid wire when ignition and starter are energized and my diagram is for post 2004 models with the "safety controller",mine is 2001 with no controller. Where does power to the solenoid come from? i.e. relay, switch?

Power to the solenoid is initiated from the ignition anytime it is ON, but it comes THRU the operator safety circuit. Since the engine turns over normally, your neutral sensing and PTO sensing are fine. I'm pretty sure that your problem relates to the seat switch. On my tractor, the seat switch logic is bypassed by the transmission being in neutral and the parking brake set. Does your tractor have a parking brake sensing switch and light on the instrument panel? The TC30 may not have either of these features.

I don't know how much your tractor would be like mine, but on the TC45D, the Fuel Solenoid is powered by a Fuel Solenoid RELAY. That relay is controlled by an Op. Safety Module which gets inputs from the seat switch circuit. When all is normal and safe, the safety module just provides a ground path for the coil of the Fuel Shutoff RELAY. This allows the relay to energize and apply 12 volts to the solenoid. The actual 12 volts that powers the solenoid come directly off a fuse. When you turn ON the ignition key, it powers the "hot" bus where all fuses are attached. That means if the fuse is not blown and the ignition switch is good (yours seems okay) then only the seat switch/parking brake switch and safety module are involved. If your tractor has no safety module and no parking brake switch, I'd guess that your seat switch provides a ground path for the Fuel Shutoff RELAY directly without any other logic, but I can't be certain without a schematic.
