TC30
I need some help on this subject. I have a 9N with a 5' bush hog that I use to mow my 10 acre field once a month. I want to buy a new tractor with about the same dimensions as the 9N so it can fit in my shed. One dealer told me the TC30 is fine and another said it's not powerful enough to pull the bush hog. Is there any big advantage getting the TC29 or TC 33 over the TC30. Money is a factor here.

I see no reason why a TC30 cannot pull a 5' bush hog. The TC29 has the same horsepower as the TC30. The Ford you have now probably has a couple horsepower less than the TC30. The TC30 is a great old style basic machine, it should do everything the N series tractors do, without any grief whatsoever.

Have used a TC30 with 5' bush hog without any problems for more than two years now. In fact, the TC30 would probably pull a 6' without any problem, too.

The TC 30 will run a 5' brush mower with ease..

I have a TC 30 bought but not delievered yet. When I went looking I looked at the TC30 and 33, salesman pointed out that the 33 is really just a fancied up 30. Lift capacity etc is same (or so close it doesn't matter). His statement was the TC30 is a working mans tractor, made of medal not plastic.
No doubt the 33 has more comfort items, and I like the extendable lower arms but not $3000 worth.

So anything the 33 will do the TC30 will do at a lower cost.

I've had a 6ft bushog on my TC29D. Handled it just fine except for taking out larger trees. If money is a factor get the TC30. Hydro really works nice though with a bushhog. You can get hydro in the TC30 also.

That dealer is nuts....I think the Tc30 and the boomer 33hp have the same engine.... I was just looking at the brochures that I picked up at the Farm show last night.... I was trying to figure where the 3hp came from cuz displacement was the same. I guess u just rev it a little more... Anyway u could run a 6ft cutter no prob.....I personally like the tc30. The boomers are newer tech.....

Go with the TC30 if budget is a concern. The TC30 is rated for up to a 6' bushhog especially if you're just cutting "field grass". I debated between the TC 30 and the 33 mainly for the loader on the 33. The big difference in price swayed me to the TC30.

Good luck,

Rodger

I use a Woods BB60 with my TC25D. Works fine. You won't have any problems with any of the Boomers you're looking at. Might want to find another dealer who knows what they're talking about though. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The main differences between the TC30 w/hydrostatic and the TC33DA are weight, hydraulic pump flow, and loader lift capacity (the TC30 uses the 7308 instead of the 14 LA). You also cannot get SuperSteer in the TC30 and the styling differences are obvious. I also believe the number of possible remote hydraulic adapters on the TC30 is less than on the TC33DA. The difference in PTO output is almost non-existent. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
