Wayne.. I've done as jinman said.. when using a 12v tractor to pull a trailer.. just tap into one side of the tractors hazard lamps and let that power the blinkers on your trailer, and tap into the running lamps to power your running lamps. A 14awg with, stripped about a half inch, then bend the copper back over the wire seems to make a great temporary connection on the trailer end of the plug.. then the wire can run up to the tap at the harness. If this is going to be a re-curring thing.. use a "t" tap connector, and then install either a quick disconnect but connector or spade connector there on both ends.. so you can simply pop those two wires in on both sides and have a trailer hookup.
A 'stayed' 3pt drawbar and ball.. or a swinging drawbar with ball will be fine.
Also.. I've pulled a trailer with a 6v tractor. inthat case.. I threw a spare 12v battery on the trailer, and wired as before.. 1 line to the running lamps, and then bought a 1.99$ walmart hazard flasher, and threw some spade ends on some wire and hooked it straight into the trailer plug as was mentioned.
Doing this, i also added a small inverter, and ran xmas tree lamps all around the tractor, and added a small house lamp for light, and the wife and family and neighbors all had an xmas hay ride/ carolling last xmas. Pulled with my 6v 1952 ford 8n and 16' car hauler, and a few extra bales of hay.
