NH TC33D Ford 1320
I have a TC33D hydrostatic with 1370 hours on it. I sold my little old beast Ford 1320. To purchase the 33D used last year. It was worked hard by the previous owner.
First thing I did was change all fluid and filters Execpt the fuel. My mistake. Hydro oil was not clean. Shortly after I had it. I ran it out of fuel. But didn't releaize because the fuel gauge was not working. Its fixed now.In my troubleshooting I pulled the fuel pump and disassembled two of the (pistions?). I was able to get everything back together and working correctly I think. It starts and runs good.
I have one item that I don't understand. When I first start the tractor after it warms up for about a minute the RPMS jump up. If it was sitting at 1000 PRMs it will go to 1500. It almost like one cylinder is not running at first.
I just replaced all the fluids and filters including the fuel filter. I also added a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner. I have not run a full tank of fuel yet.

All this to ask about the following loss of power.
When I am go up a small incline I lose siginificant ground speed and RPM's. I will get specific numbers. But if I am running about 2600 RPMS is will drop to below 2000. It seems worse when the engine has not been run for more than 30 minutes. This happens with or without the rear PTO running. If I am running my wooed RD7200 and have the PTO close to 600 RPMs it will drop below 540.
This does not seem correct. I am not pushing harder on the pedal. If I let up a little it helps some but now what I would expect.
What could be causing this issue. Fuel? Fuel pump? Hydro restriction? How should I start to trouble shoot this issue?

Was your 1320 a gear or hydrostatic transmission?

What range are you in before you start up the incline/hill (L-M-H)?

Everyone's interpretation of a incline or hill can be different. However, with my TC33D I rarely if ever go up a incline/hill in H range and for anything that I consider a hill, I would use M if I'm not using the PTO otherwise I'm in L if I'm going up a hill and using the PTO.

If you are in range M without using the PTO what happens if you select range L, likewise if your using the PTO what happens using ranges M & L on hills? Depending on what implement you are using the PTO can consume a considerable amount of Hp.

My 1320 was not HST.
I am in M when going up the incline.
My RPMs drop from 2000 to less than 1500 with out the using the PTO. I will double check those values this morning as well as the response going up the same incline in L.

Not familiar with your machine or the engine in it, but there have been some loss of power threads recently that turned out to be animal nests in the air filter or ducts.

I wish I could find something like a nest. But I did double check nothing.

just going by the increasing rpm by itself of 500 rpms, that shouldn't be.

Yes, I have to agree, that does seem strange to go from 1,000 to 1,500 only after 1-min when warming up.

Did it do either the increased RPMs or the loss of power before you disassembled and reassembled the fuel pump?

The governor linkage is probably hooked up wrong or not at all. Or there are other problems associated with working on injection pumps without proper training, information or tools.

Where is the governor linkage?

As far a a change before and after I worked on the fuel pump I cannot say. I didn稚 have it long enough to notice any difference.
