My TC33D was running fine. I shut it down to move something and when I tried to restart it, the dash lights came on like normal and I got one small "click" and the the dash went dark.

The battery is fine and I have power to the starter, but the starter will no kick even if jumped when all the dash lights are out. After about 10 minutes, the dash lights miracualously come back on, but as soon as I try to jump the starter or turn the key to the start position, I get the "click" and everything goes out. I have power to the starter verified by test light.

Basically as soon as I put any load on the starting circuit the dash lights go out and she is totally dead. After some period of time it seems to "reset" itself and all starts over with the same end.

The battery is fully charged and brand new. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. I checked the ground wire and it is spotless and clean. I have checked the ignition switch function with a test light and it appears to be appropriately delivery voltage.

Please help a brother out... :)

Thank you
Kevin

Obiefox, it sounds like you may have a loose connection or bad cell in the battery. The test light doesn't draw any amps to light, but when you try the starter it does! If you can pull it out most auto parts stores will test it for free... good luck!

Kevin,
First, welcome to TBN. :) Second, this subject will get a lot more traction in the New Holland forum. Maybe a moderator can move it.

As for your problem. It sounds like you either have a "circuit breaker" type fuse or a marginal fuse that closes back after a cool down. I was stummped by a fuse once that would test good with a multimeter but would not run a hydraulic pump. As soon as the switch was thrown the voltage would disappear. :(

The fact all you instrument lights go out would make me suspect of the main fuse on the left side of the operators platform. It's an inline fuse on the main wire headed up to the control console. Take a hard look at that one and even throw in a new one for a definite "not the problem" answer.

I suggest to check battery voltage and clean/tighten all 4 battery cable connections.

I use to have a similar issue with my old NH 1520. I found out it was a relay from the ignition switch was to blame. Popped in a new relay and it was fixed.

Where did you go, Kevin?
You never posted what the solution was? 😥
I have a TC35D with the exact same symptoms. I have checked, cleaned and rechecked both battery cables. The 40 amp fuse, all the fuses under the instrument cluster, hot wired around the ignition (since I thought it was the notorious ignition switch). Nothing has worked.

Please help!
