Hmmmm.......so it looks like my TC48DA is actually a Japanese tractor with mostly all major components, engine, trans, rear axle, and front 4wd axle manufactured there. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif IH3444

I was thinking about trading UP to a TC33 this year. Went to the dealer and found out that the TC33 is the same as my Ford 1520 with 10 more gross horsepower and plastic body work. My tractor was made in Japan, the new ones come from there but are assembled in NC I believe. As far as work goes, the TC33 is a mule and will do about anything that a tractor with this weight can do. I've taken my 1520 into a hay field with grass 2-3' high and the 60" belly mower doesn't bog down. Do I need more diesel HP? Not really. As far as reliability goes, it can't be beat. I've done NOTHING to my tractor but change fluids every 50 hours and grease it often. It's been a great machine. Oh by the way, I was shocked that my Ford is still worth almost as much as I paid for it.

If you drive your 1520 until is reliably is over you will run-it for a very long of time.
I have a 1620 (bought 1992 )same equipment than you but with a little bit more power. I have on the clock 3500 hrs with no problem. 40 % of my running time are on the maw and the rest for everything. That tractor can almost talking.!!!! For me, that is very difficult to believe of the new NH TD 33A are event (not better just equal) reliable then the older 20 series.
But I want to change it for a more powerful tractor. I do not want plastic tractor because I go into the forest. It is more easy to repair steel body than fiberglass. I use the tractor with a bush cutter. When I go to the forest I put all branches of the trees cut under the cutter. This is very difficult for the tractor. I plan to buy a good wood chipper like Farmi soonly. Wood chipper with hydraulic feeder require power. About 10 hp per inch of cut.
