TBNers - I am having a devil of a time finding a fuel filter that fits my tractor. Everyone I have received, the hole in the top center is too small. Anyone else ever encounter this problem?

The latest one I tried was a CNH Part number SBA360720130. I ordered this a while back and I am just getting around to installing. This part number has been superseded, but I suspect the new part has the same dimensions...which I believe is a 13mm opening.

Thanks!

Gorm.

As a New Holland dealership employee for the last 20 years I know there have been no widespread or even isolated problems with fitment regarding that particular filter regardless of the part number it is sold as. The filter and filter head predate your tractor by at least a decade. Is the o ring on the nipple in the filter head swelled up or not dimensionally correct?

Rick,

No, I didn't see the o-ring. Attached is a picture....

Well - I finally figured it out. Look closely at the picture, that's the old filter's metal end cap! How I missed that, I don't know! Oh well, live and learn...Thanks again Rick for confirming it was not a filter-sizing issue.

That explains why I couldn’t figure out what the *#@& your photo was supposed to be!

Well , been there done that , but with the Hydraulic filter on my TC30 . Changed all the filters and fluid . Fired it up , No leaks till I hit the loader joystick ?? :confused3:

Removed , tried installing again , same problem ?? Removed again and tried old filter , No leaks ?? WTH ?? Took old filter back off and just as I was about
to reach up and install new one , a large " O " ring dropped to the ground . Thinking it had fell off new filter , I cleaned it up and went to install it but there was already one there ? Looked at old filter and it was missing . Then this Feeble brain inside my fat head figured it out . When I took off old filter , the old O ring stayed , thus when I tried to install new filter , it would not seal right .

All in All , Think I wasted a good hour . Seriously , RickB is a Super Great source of Information here and with my stories and some video's of my " Adventures " , Could likely have Him on speed dial .

Same kind of thing happened to me once with a fuel filter on my TC26DA. Baffled me for awhile too.
