New Holland TC33DA
I have been reading some posts regarding problems with the Hydro returning to center, and I have a problem which is similar, but different. I have a new TC33DA with only about 15 hours on it. Recently the hydro has started acting up. When I am running it, hot or cold, and I let off the hydro pedal it returns back to center. The problem is, though, that in the center position it wants to go in reverse slightly. Sitting still, in gear, I have to keep a little bit of pressure on the pedal in the forward position to keep the tractor from moving. It did not do this when I first got it, and it seems like there should be some sort of adjustment to correct for this, but I'm not sure what it is. There isn't a dealer anywhere near me to take it to (in fact, I bought it out of state and had it shipped). I'd appreciate any help that anyone can offer me in figuring out how to adjust the hydro as this is very dangerous (especially when using the loader), and I would like to fix it ASAP. Thanks a lot, Jerry

Jerry,

My TC29D did that right around 15 hours also. There is an adjustment for it but I can't tell you where it is. I had my dealer come out and adjust it while driving by one day. I wished I would have watched how he adjusted it but wasn't around when he did it.

Maybe you could call the dealer you bought it from and he could tell you how to adjust it.

Remove the covers in between your feet under the steering column. On the right hand side you will see a vertical tube with a rod through the center of it. Under the tube on the lower end of the rod should be a jam nut against a ball joint. Make sure the tractor is in 2WD, jack the rear axle off the ground so the tires will rotate without moving the tractor, if you have supersteer, you need to have all 4 wheels off the ground. Have someone sit in the seat and start the tractor, put the range lever in high range, and set the throttle to full RPM. Loosen the jam nut and using the nut on the top of the tube, turn the rod until you find neutral. Once you find neutral, lock the jam nut back down and you should be all set.
