Hello all,
On my tractor which I acquired used nearly 3 yrs ago, I have only recently noticed when changing the air filter that based on figures of the air cleaner assembly, my tractor is missing a part. In New Holland diagrams, this part is called the 'Dust Valve'. Others call it an Aerator. In this image, it's the item ID'd by #13. This product page for the item shows a nice 3D model with a tiny slit in it at the end. This figure from Messicks of the part seems to show the actual part, and I don't see a tiny slit.
Here is the thought and my question:
1) Does anyone have this part on their tractor and can provide information about it / a picture/ thoughts on its necessity, is there a slit, is there not a slit? Is the material rubbery or hard ABS-like plastic?
2) I have several 3D printers. I am confident I can model this part in CAD and print it, rather than trying to track down someone who might have it, used or otherwise. Spares pricing for something like this + shipping and handling is daunting. Is anyone able to take some basic caliper measurements relative to the figures I linked above to guide the modelling process?
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks
