My faithful Ford 8N, I'm afraid, is on its way to tractor heaven.
Or to rebirth in the hands of a better mechanic than I am.

So I just ordered my first new tractor, a NH TC33DA with HT and Supersteer/Sensitrack.

Does this sound like a fair price?:
$16,201 with industrial tires, includiing freight.
Maryland sales tax will be extra.

NH dealer agrees to send a mechanic to get locked gears into
neutral, load tractor (with mangled front end) onto truck, and return to shop for repair estimate. I reserve right to pay for repairs, accept their purchase offer, or abandon it for parts.

By the way -- can the TC33 run on biodiesel?

Congratulations on the new machine & welcome to TBN. I really like the TC33. Sounds like a good price from what I'm seeing. Espcially with the SuperSteer/SensiTrac option.

Yes it will run on BioDiesel, be warned that in the winter BioDiesel gels at a higher temperature than straight diesel so you will want to use a conditioner/anti-gel when the temps get into the feezing ranges and below. Many folks here really like the brand Power Service.

I know that prices differ from region to region but I just purchased a TC33DA w/supersteer, R4 loaded tires for $14,600, a 15LA loader w/ hd bucket, 3 hooks and toothbar $4400. All plus tax. We started at $15,800 and after a couple of weeks going back and forth we finally reached the final number. I thnk you can get a better price just haggle a little longer. I was also lucky in that this tractor was the last on his lot, maybe it was built before the steel increase, or maybe he just wants to get rid of it. Sure love that supersteer. I understand the senitrack is standard with supersteer, sure hope so. You'll love this tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tom,

Price does vary a lot from area to area. I see your from the Maryland area and if I remember right the northeast typically runs a bit higher than the midwest. So for your area I think you did ok.

Might not hurt for you to go back in and fill out your profile stating your from Maryland area and than way in future posts people in your area can help you best.

Congrates on the new rig. Your gonna love it.

Tom_k,

I live in Maryland near Hagerstown. Where do you live in Maryland? We may be neighbors? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

ptfarmer, I'm in the Middletown Valley, just east of you. So hi, neighbor!

And I did buy that new tractor. TC33DA/hydrostatic/SS. Love it!
It is so much more maneuverable than my old 8N. It was a good choice, too, because it's probably the largest NH frame size & HP I could get & still move through the garage door without folding down the ROPS.

To nit-pick a little, the rear PTO and range controls are pretty stiff. Maybe just because it's new? I think my wife or son would have trouble yanking them back and forth for an afternoon. And why did they mount the exhaust pipe practically right under my nose, instead of somewhere out the rear?

The flexi-link 3ph is a nice feature. Turning radius is incredible.
I've ordered a new flail mower and am anxious to tackle some undergrowth soon.
