My husband died a few years ago and I finally sold our old MF65 as it just was
not "girl friendly". I think I have decided to buy a NH TC34 w/FEL but have
no idea what the pricing should be at. Can anyone help ? I am planning on
getting the industrial tires, engine heater and something for weight in the
tires but not sure what. My husband never wanted to put fluid in the tires
because he said it was too corrosive. One dealer mentioned putting tubes in
the tires to hold the fluid, is this reasonable ? I plan to use the tractor
mostly for mowing pasture, CRP and between rows of trees with a brush hog, maybe someday get a rear finish mower. Several times since I sold the MF65
I could have used the loader just to move something so I figure I would be sorry if I did not have one put on. Any help on pricing would be appreciated as the dealers in my area of Minnesota/Wisconsin are all over the board. I hate to think it is because I am a women but I am starting to wonder. My
brother-in-law works for Ford and says he can get an employee discount
(A Plan ??) does anyone know how much this would save or maybe it would not save anything ?? Thanks in advance for any help or advice !! I think I posted this to the wrong place the first time.....Sorry !

The A plan will save you money, it is probably the best deal you will be able to get, but I'm not sure what the discount will be as I am not current on the pricing of the newest models. Pricing seems to fluctuate wildly from dealer to dealer, it even happens to men ;)

As for fluid filling the tires, there are NON-corrosive fluids that you can have put in. "RV-Antifreeze" is often used, it is non-corrosive, there is a product called Rim Guard and another product called Beet Juice. Some people use windshiled wiper fluid. All will work and should not pose a problem. Calcium products used to be common, they are not very common anymore, but they will corrode the rim.
A word of caution, while RV-Antifreeze is safe to use, do not allow them to use Automotive anti-freeze intended to be put into a car's radiator. That is a very poisonous product and if it leaks out, even a teaspoon of it will kill a large dog or a child, unfortunately it smells sweet and is attractive to pets and kids!

I acquired a Case DX29, the older little red brother (sister?) to a TC34 through A-plan last spring. With loader, Ag tires, 0% for 36 month financing, an add-a-grapple (really think about getting one), a rear hydraulic valve, HST, two hats, and delivery 20 miles from the dealer it came in around 18,500. I didn't get A-plan on the grapple, nor the labor installing the valve and grapple, of course.

When I asked the dealer how much the A-plan saved me, he allowed that they typically like to make about 1200 on a tractor. They also get 6% of their cost credit toward their next unit ordered, so don't worry about them not making anything on the deal. The same guy (one of the owners) opined that if he could make 6% on everything they sold he would be pretty happy.

I would guess, allowing for price changes, the larger engine, and the R-4 tires, that you should be in the $20k range. Why not just go to the dealers and ask them to give you a price for the A-plan tractor and as many freebies as they are able to throw in to earn your service/parts business for many years down the road?

Oh yeah, there is a product called Rim Gard that is about as dense as the Chloride solution formerly used, is made from beet juice, and totally non-corrosive and environmentally safe if you puncture a tire. Ask the dealers about that, too. It will cost more than the salt water, but you'll be ahead of the game in the long run.

Bob I think if she looks for Beet Juice she will have a problem Rim Guard is the commercial name for a product based on Beet Juice. I've been using it for several years now and will never go back to Calcium. (or any ot the other products not designed to fill tires)

The employee purchase plan is intended to be used by the the employee only, Unlike the friends and family plan they use on the cars and trucks the employee only should be the one to purchase. That being said an employee can purchase the tractor and then sell the tractor to a person for cash. You can not use the attractive low rate finance offers for this type of transaction.

Employee price is dealer invoice plus freight, plus dealer prep, less any incentives offered by CNH at the time of purchase.

The difference in prices is the dealer prep.

Hello,

I too am thinking of buying a TC34. Let me know what you find about pricing. All I have been able to find is list price.

Thanks.

Not owning a FEL, you will have to take this with a grain of salt...

First, I applaud you for your efforts. Widows have a soft spot in my heart.
Since FEL's usually require some sort of rearward balast, is there any reason to fill the tires IF the cost is prohibitive? It doesn't take much of a salesman or shop guy to make labor go thru the roof.
With that in mind, could a rear mounted attachment be used instead? A box blade with a few sacks of concrete or maybe something of that sort to add to the rear weight? Even an empty drum that you could fill with water after putting it on the rear of the tractor could be less expensive than having the tires filled. Depending on what you plan on doing with it, there might be other options.
On the other hand...
My JD has a front weight carrying device on the front of the frame. I just removed 600 pounds of weight off the front, which made the front end sigh with relief. This kind of weight doesn't do the mechanical parts of the tractor alot of good, which is one reason for filling the tires. It adds weight without adding it to the bearings and such.
Good luck with your tractor hunt, and if the costs isn't prohibitive, have the tires filled by the dealer.
