Hi folks,
Looking at upgrading my tractor, I have my eye on a TC34DA with a 240 loader and a 60 mid mount deck.

From you experts, what problems should I be looking for on a tractor with 400 hrs on it?

400 hrs is just broke in.
I would look for how many years did it take to get 400hrs? Has it set for several years? Does it appear to be abused?
Leaking seals, bent or scarred cylinder rods. Leaking gaskets. Good tires.
Test drive and operate all functions. Pick up heavy loads if possible.
The usual stuff.

Thanks, figure all the normal stuff, and listening to the trans for hydraulic pump issue as well. Just looking for any know issue with this model.

400 hours aint nothin'. I have found this to be true in most cases that you can look at it's physical condition and get a pretty good idea of how it's been maintained. If it's beat up and been left outside that would indicate to me that the owner did not care too much about maintaining it properly. My TC34DA has never sat out 1 night since I bought it new and I changed all the fluids at 100 hrs, not counting engine oil which I change every 50 hrs.but I am on the extreme edge but my tractor shows the good maintainence it's had.

I have one since 2007 . Great machine. Has the usual problem of that size hydrstatic drive machines . Cannot use the brakes to steer but it does not really matter. I put on about 50 hours a year and next year I think I will need front tires. I do a lot of loader work.
