My TC35DA HST starts and runs until I engage the range selector lever from neutral to 1 or 2. Once I engage and depress the forward or backward pedals the tractor cuts off. My question is if there is a safety switch on the range selector lever?

Does it stop a soon a you put it in range selector or when you try to move forward or reverse?
There is a seat safety switch that is used when the tractor is put in gear.

It shuts off when the pedals are depressed, so when the tractor moves forward or backwards. The seat safety switch was by passed when I bought the tractor used. Thanks,

I'm not aware of any electrical switches on the forward or reverse pedals, at least for my TC33D. As far as I know there are switches on the Seat, PTO, Range Selector, Parking Brake, Foot Brake.

I don't think your issue is electrical, but hopefully others will confirm.

Let us know what you find.

Could be restricted fuel delivery. When you put the engine under load it stalls due to lack of adequate fuel delivery. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

The fuel filter is due to be changed. I will check that this weekend. The tractor cranks and runs well. It runs when the range selector is moved to 1 or 2. When I depress the forward or reverse pedal it stalls. If I bump the range selector to neutral while it is stalling, it will continue to run. It always cranks back up with no issue. It only has to turn over one time and it fires.

See the attached electrical schematic which I believe is accurate for your TC35DA. There is a Transmission Range Neutral Safety Switch (see bottom left). But I believe that Safety Switch would only not allow you to start your tractor, you could confirm this by placing the range lever in either 1 or 2 and try to start your tractor. Obviously don't have your foot on the forward or reverse pedal while trying this and be ready to apply the brake just incase it does start and begin to move.

Out of curiosity, can you raise and lower your front end loader with it running in natural?

The tractor will not start, or even turn over if the range selector is in 1 or 2. I am able to raise and lower the front end loader while the tractor is running in neutral. I wasn't able to put eyes and hands on the safety switches, Saturday because it was raining. I will start checking the switches this Saturday.
