TC35D repair manuals other than factory?

Hi all,

Today I called the local NH dealer to see if they had a manual for my machine since my warranty is about to expire. I was expecting a book for about $35-$40, but he quoted $240.00!! I asked if there were any smaller/condensed versions-he didn't know of any. Are there any aftermarket manuals (like a Chilton's for cars), for tractors? I'm having a hard time justifying that kind of $ for manuals. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have the repair manuals and illustrated parts catalog. In my opinion, they are expensive, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif but well worth the $$$. I just wish they would put the manuals on CD. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree - they are very handy. As you know, they ARE expensive but in the same range as Kioti's and some others. I also got the parts manual, as well. Thanks to this site, I knew in advance how much they were and got the dealer to throw them in with the sale. The day he delivered my tractor, he asked me if I realized how much they cost. I just played dumb (pretty easy for me /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.) I wish they were on CD as well - that way you could just print off the pages you need and not worry about getting them wet/messy/greasy/etc.

I am in the same boat as you... I have the TC35 and when I heard the price on the service manuals, my jaw dropped. While I'm not against spending some bucks, my current solution is wait a couple years and see if I can get them cheaper.

BTW, I used to have an Ford 8n... I used to go out to Yesterday's Tractors on the web. Those guys know everything about those old tractors and I learned a ton in the 2-3 yrs alone that I owned that tractor... I did all kinds of work from changing rear seals to putting in new wiring harnesses to hooking up a front plow and tricking the hydraulic system into doing yoga moves...

I FULLY anticipate that our buddies with the manuals will be giving us plenty of good advice /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif when the time comes that we will need it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif .
