Hello again,

I changed the fuel filter on my TC35DA and now I can't get it to start. I'm pretty sure it's just air in the lines but I don't see any way to bleed it out. I did get the bowl to fill by loosening the bowl attaching ring. Of course I can't find my operators manual. Any guidance is appreciated as usual.

When I did my TC30 I had to do the 3 injectors separately. It wasn't enough to let air bubbles out, I had to get a real spurt or two of fuel before I closed it up.
I read that some NH TC35's have an auto bleed system. -Said be sure to set the brake when starting those up, otherwise just cranks and nothing happens (safety switch or something). Others were manual bleeding.
The search engine at the top of the page is pretty good for info on old threads.
Hang around and someone will be able to tell you in detail. I use youtube for info also.
Good luck.

I just replaced mine in my Case DX45 (TC45DA.) In my operator's manual it stated that you would have to bleed the fuel system after replacing it. There is a hose you can remove that is behind the high pressure lines. However, I couldn't figure out a way to get the hose off and still be able to get it put back on. So I bled the filter similarly to what you did and then bled the system by through the high pressure lines. It essentially did the same thing as using the recommended method, but was much easier to do. I'm not sure if it is a prescribed way of going about it, but it worked like a charm.

You might find this helpful:

Bleeding a Diesel Fuel System

Start at the fuel outlet of the tank (inlet to the filter). Shut the tank valve, remove the line at the filter inlet and holding a suitable container to catch the diesel fuel, open the valve. You should have a CONTINUOUS rush/flow of fuel out of the line. If it dribbles or is intermittent, check the fuel cap for a blockage of the fuel vent or the strainer upstream of the valve for clogging. The strainer/screen is attached to the shut-off valve, and is positioned up inside the tank. You will have to drain the tank and pull the valve to clean the screen.
If you have good fuel flow at that point, reconnect the line and open the bleeder screw at the top of the filter. Turn on the tank valve and wait till you have a steady flow of fuel with no bubbles at the top of the filter, then close the bleeder screw.
Your pump may have a bleeder screw. If so, open that until fuel streams out with no bubbles, then close it. If you cannot identify the bleeder screw, loosen the inlet connection at the pump and purge air at that point.
Go back and make sure ALL the fittings in the fuel delivery system are tight so they cannot suck air.
Make sure the battery is fully charged. Loosen the fuel fittings at the injectors, either one at a time or all at once. Crank the engine till you see all fuel at the injector fittings and then tighten the fittings. If you do indvidual fittings, the engine will usually start before you get to the last fitting.
Alternatively, you can "tow-start" it to save wear and tear on your starter. Leave the injector lines cracked open at the injectors at first to purge the lines. Then tighten them up and she should start.
Your injection pump puts out a very small amount of fuel (high pressure/low volume). BE PATIENT. If the lines are totally empty, it takes a lot of cranking to fill them up.

As thisdj1 posted, I ended up having to bleed all three injectors. nothing else worked.

Is it working now? They are pretty tough tractors!

I still can't find my TC35DA Operators Manual or the Operators Manual for my 16LA bucket. They are probably both in the same place where I put them for safe keeping.
Could someone please scan the page in the 35DA manual that shows the illustration of the fuel filter shutoff lever On/Off positions and either post it here or email it to me? I would definitely appreciate it.
