On my 2001 TC 35s the clutch pedal does not disengage the pto when pushed but does stop the tractor (not positive but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be that way). If so what Is the best way to engage and disengage the pto since the foot clutch pedal doesn't control it. Should I idle way down and engage the clutch then idle up and idle way down to disengage the clutch.

Hydro or stick ? On my TC30 hydro , By pushing in the clutch , it stops the drive but also allows engaging or disengaging the PTO .

Maybe needs adjusting ???

Stick (has high, medium, low) then 4 gears 1-4 plus shuttle shift (forward, reverse)

On my tc30 , pushing in the clutch just a little will disengage the drive , but it reuires almost a full pedal depress to be able to work the pto , So I am thinking that I would look for a adjustment on the linkage ????

Just spit balling , Not a tractor mechanic , But that is were I would look first ??

I have a 2005 TC 35A. I am not clear what you mean by a TC35s. The year that you listed 2001 does not show a TC35s. Because you said that you have a gear tranny I am thinking that you have a 2001 TC35 which should be the same as the 2005 TC35A. It should be the same as my tractor. I have never used the clutch to engage the PTO. Idle up to 12-1500 RPM, gently move the PTO level to the fully engaged position, slowly increase the RPM's until the PTO is spinning at 540RPM's,[approx. 2400Rpm's on the tach]. Reverse the process to shut it down. Remember, if you bring the RPM's down too fast, the PTO brake will engage and if done over and over it will wear out and need to be replaced.

You have an independent PTO on that tractor. Not a live one, so it should spin when clutch is depressed.

Thank you for that information I greatly appreciate it. I just wanted to make sure I was engaging and disengaging the pto properly.
