Was wondering if anyone could tell me why there is an $1800 to $2000 dollar price difference between the TC40 and the TC45 when as best I can tell, from the specs. and looking at both tractors, they are the same (except HP rating and the TC45 is 200lbs. heavier). The TC45 just has a little larger engine displacement (same size block). Called New Holland of North America to inquire about this and received some "pre-packaged" response. None of the dealers could tell me why they were charging $400/HP for 5 more ponies or where the 200lbs came from.

As far as I can tell, it's a marketing thing...if the price was very close, they would'nt sell many 40's unless someone specifically wanted the mid-PTO. I'm guessing that the difference in weight has to do with the transmission and housing which is different since the 45 doesn't have a mid-PTO option. It seems backwards, but as far as I know, everything else about the 40 and 45 is similar.
