Dan is correct about the lift capability of the 16LA. The only things I can add about the tractor are the battery area in front of the radiator needs to be checked closely for battery acid leaks. Also, there have recently been several failures of the front wheel drive differential. I have nearly 1500 hours on my tractor and have worked it hard with no issues. I routinely lift the maximum weight on my 16LA loader and operate on rough terrain with front wheel drive enabled. So far, my tractor has worked flawlessly. There was also a few of the early 2000-2003 tractors that had PTO clutch problems, but there was a recall on those and most of them were fixed at no charge to the owners.
If you buy the tractor, be cautious when you engage and disengage the PTO with a rotary cutter attached. The PTO has a brake that stops rotation when the lever is moved to OFF. That brake and the PTO clutch are hydraulically actuated and reducing shock to components is a good thing. Lower the engine rpm to 1000 and engage the PTO slowly. Before disengaging the PTO, again lower the engine RPM. This will ensure your PTO brake lasts a long time. To most of us, this is second nature, but it is worth noting.
Good luck with your purchase. That TC40 is a good, solid tractor with lots of capabilities. I think you'll love it.
