My 2004 TC40A has been such a reliable machine that I haven't needed to post anything in a long, long time... BUT, a slow leak in the transmission seal below the PTO is begging to be repaired. I've posted a picture where you can see the gray goop in an attempt to slow the leak at the bottom of the seal. I've got a new seal, CNH # SBA322140270 which looks to be the correct part.
I'm assuming I can punch/drill a small hole in the old seal to get a pry point and pop it out. The new seal has a rubber overlay on the sealing surface. Has anyone done one of these? Any hints on how best to proceed? Does this need any additional sealer?
It looks like the PTO would have to be moved/removed to clear the seal diameter?
Comments appreciated.
Thanks
