My glow plug light has been acting up - staying on a minute or two or not at all. It finally went out completely. I replaced the glow plug relay. When I turned the key on the glow plug light lit up for a second then I heard a small pop - blew #1 fuse. I believe my problem is the glow plug timer but I'm not sure. Any ideas before I buy a new one? Also, the NGK Lamp Timer model on my tractor is S81NF and I can't seem to find this model - I can find the S81NL - not sure how to proceed.

Appreciate any help.

There are a bunch of threads about this. Most often, it is due to a weak battery, or a broken solenoid. Most people have replace fuse 1 with a resettable circuit breaker.

If you can't find it by searching the threads, let me know, and I will dig into it a bit. Jinman(who has passed) has answered this question.

dynasim,

Appreciate the reply - I can find many treads concerning fuse #2 getting the re settable circuit breaker, I have done that one myself. This is for fuse #1. I've replaced the glow plug relay and now the glow plug lamp timer and I'm still blowing fuse #1. I'll keep searching - hopefully it's something minor.
