I was looking at the pedal controls and i noticed that on the TC40D on the left were thw two brake pedals and on the right were 2 other pedals one for forward and the other for reverse. I thought this was weird, the only other tractor that ive seen have this was the Landtrac 330HST and 390HST. Does anyones tractor have this?

Yes, it is a GREAT arrangement. I think the John Deere's have the two pedals as well. I like it better than the rocker pedal. In addition, it is better than having the brakes on the same side as the HST pedal for the turning reasons above, plus for the security of creeping up to a ditch or to keep drifting backwards/forwards while on a hill.

In looking a the picture, I can only assume that the tractor you looked at is not from the US. The controls are VERY different, floor mats missing, steering wheel fatter, etc. Your profile is not complete - where is this tractor sold?

My TC29D has the brakes on the same side as the hydro which I do think was kind of poor thinking. I am sure they wanted to keep things standardised and that is why. For the most part I have gotten along with out it You can use the right brake if you have the cruise on, but the left one has the switch on the pedal to shut the cruise down. I may do some playing there someday, but like I said I really have never needed even though on the farm I always used it.

As far as the single hydro pedal I do like that better. It is so much smoother in my opinion for changing directions. You don't have to take your foot off of one pedal and move over to the other. On the dual pedal that John Deere has I am not sure how it is suppose to work when you hit both pedals at the same time? Maybe someone here can tell me. My neighbor on his 955 hit his one time when looking backwards and it pretty much killed the tractor right now and there was one heck of a squeel coming from the tranny. The tractor shut down along with that. However for some reason he tried pushing both pedals again with the tractor off and he couldn't get them both to go in?? I was not around it was only him telling me about it one day. So if anyone here has any experience or knowledge on that please let me know. I just trying to learn here.

Oh and by the way, that Landtrac is a nice looking tractor
