TC40DA hydraulic leak

I have been using my tractor to move some dirt around and noticed liquid trail behind the tractor. It appears to be hydraulic fluid and it it from the top of the transmission (under the foot platform). Is there a overflow up there or could it be the seal where the transmission connect to the engine. I have not torn into this yet but wanted get some thoughts. I wondered if could be the oil pump issue discussed earlier. Thanks all. Shawn

The easiest way to be sure is to remove the seat from the platform (the whole thing including the height adjuster). Under the seat is an opening where you can inspect the top of the transmission case. Most likely you have a leak in the pressure test ports or the PTO clutch/brake valve that is operated by the PTO lever. Directly under the opening is the PTO valve and the test ports are quite a way forward of that. Actually there is an plate you can remove under the rubber mat, but removing the rubber mat is something you may not want to attemp. It's a lot of work and I think you can actually see the ports if you use a flashlight through the hole under the seat.

If you leak was directly under the steering wheel, I might consider suggesting a power steering leak, but this is not common. Most likely it's the pressure test ports as others have experienced similar leaks in the past.
