New holland TC40da
I have a Tc40da with 436 hours on it and I had some starting issues and replaced the pto switch and it seemed to solve the problem. Well I was driving the tractor not working it just moving it more or less and it sputtered then just died. It would turn over and act like it wanted to start but wouldn't. I changed the fuel filter and let it sit for about 15 minutes and it started right up and drove it less than 2 minutes back to the house. Next morning when out and it started and moved 4 feet then died out like lack of fuel again but now it won't even turn over I just get a click from the under the dash prolly from a relay. I checked the seat switch it has power and when compressed I can hear the fuel solenoid kick in. I've got 12 volts at the solenoid and 12 ohms at it also. I also changed the start neutral switch in the trans and then jumped it but still no engine turn over. I went ahead and replaced the operator safety module to. I'm at a loss right now I checked all the fuses at the base of the steering wheel all are good and even checked them with my bolt meter to make sure they weren't dropping on either side

Any advice would help my email is csmoak25@yahoo.com

Thanks

Make sure your battery is fully charged. You may have run it down with all the attempted restarts and it never had a chance to re-charge.

Your problem, per your post. appears to me to be fuel delivery related. This can be caused by a clogged strainer at the fuel tank outlet, a kinked fuel line, a clogged filter, or a failure to bleed the fuel system before restarting after changing a filter or otherwise opening the fuel delivery system.

A clogged strainer restricts fuel delivery often allowing the tractor to start normally but it dies because the fuel delivery to the pump is less than the "required to run" amount of fuel. SO check for full delivery to the tank side of the filter.
