TC45 Hood Latch

Any of you Boomer owners had hood latch problems? Went to pop the hood and it won't release. The latch will move a 1/4", but won't release. Thanks in advance for any help..

Had that happen on my 29D. Not a good feeling ...

Shot some WD-40 into the latch and fiddled with the hood latch and hood till it finally let go. Now when I'm in the barn, I regularly open and close the hood and spray it with some teflon lube monthly. It's been OK since.

Good luck - hope you don't need the BIG pry bar ...

My 25D was hard to unlatch initially. I had to push down on the front of the hood while pushing the latch over. Not easy to do while leaning over a FEL arm. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif It unlatches OK now.

Had the same problem with my TC35D...once. I had to wiggle the hood side to side to release the catch. Never has bound up again. Maybe just that the hood closed a little twisted.

I had the same problem on my TC29. Called dealer and service tech. told me not to slam it closed. Just push down till it latches. Has worked every time since.

Push DOWN on the top of the fiberglass hood as you pull the latch and I think it will fully unlatch and open. It works, Frank
