I had a bucket with the edge broken in 8 places and repaired in 10 others! It was trash. It took about 6 of the real thin cutting blades on a big angle grinder to cut the pieces all out. It wasn't too bad to weld in a new 4" x 3/8" edge. I used the one with predone holes so that a double bevel 6 x 1/2 high carbon cutting edge could be bolted on.
Total time was in the 12-16 hours range. Could have gone faster if I was more aggressive with the cutting, but I didn't want to bugger it up. The welding also has to go slow to avoid warping the bucket.
I got lazy and welded a new edge right over the worn out one. Works ok, and there's lots of steel up there now. I've not heard of the reze blade Alan's talking about, sorry.
