I have a 2005 TC45D with 550 hours. I used the PTO for brush hogging, and it was working great. Unhooked the brush hog and parked the for about 6 weeks. I got back on the tractor and there was no resistance on the PTO leaver at all. The linkage moves fine. I removed the platform and seat, and the rod going through the diverter valve is turning when I move the leaver to enguage the PTO...it is like a pin or something inside the diverter is broke. Any help or suggestions?

Thanks, cmoore20

There are several possibilities, the first is that you are not getting hyd pressure to the valve. This is not likely, but something to check. The second is as you say. There might be something internal. The final issue is a leak in hydraulic fluid at o-ring seals where the valve goes into the clutch assy inside the transmission/differential case. I also suppose you could have a pressure relief valve on the PTO valve that is stuck open, but it seems unlikely. Do you have a pressure gage (500 psi) to do some testing? If not you are probably looking at removing the valve and seeing if you can find the problem.

If the PTO lever is moving without any resistance, you most likely dropped pin 5. Inspecting the shaft rotation on deluxe platforms is difficult to see with shaft 9 driving it. There is no pin on the inside of the PTO valve.
