I'm a new tractor owner, been borrowing my brothers for a year and finally found one that had most of what I wanted. I was happy it had a remote hydraulic, but I need two for the hay rake.

Does everyone have the urge to modify the tractor as soon as they get it or is it just me?

Here is a picture of me right after I unloaded it from the trailer, playing (working) the dirt pile.

thanks,
david

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

Congrats on the new rig and, yes, I can safely say that we all want to 'modify' our tractors asap. So far I've added a fire extinguisher and an LED light bar on the ROPS and a rear view mirror off of the FEL stanchion. I can't help with the adding an extra remote... the only hay rake I've used only required two and that was to raise/lower the arms.

Enjoy the site.

To me part of the fun of buying a new piece of equiptment is doing maintaince on it . Find all grease fittings lube them up check all fluids, and filters. Best new addition to a tractor is a good counter weight . Next or probally first a good tool box for gloves extra pins etc . If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for it that's my next tractor. Good luck!:drink:

It has 1500 hours on it and I paid $14,500 + $1200 shipping (OK -> VA). I had been looking for a while and it was a good price for a very clean tractor.

To the TBN forum.

Congrats on the new tractor. As Wagtail said, it is normal to want to modify ASAP to get it the way you want. 1500 hours is just starting to brake it in good.

looking at the picture I would say first purchase would be a tooth bar to help get into that pile with less traction issues..

Anyone have a lead on the 2nd remote kit? I see Messicks has one for $1300, but that is kinda steep.

I have a 3040 that would probably use the same kit as what you need. I looked for a reasonably priced 2nd remote a few years ago and gave up when I saw the prices CIH wanted. It seemed they must be made out of gold.
