I picked up a 2007 tractor last year after the PTO on my old Massey 85 quit working. Ever since I got it the PTO lever has been very stiff. I only used it a little bit last fall but in order for me to get it to disengage and move back to the locked position I had to use 2 hands. I would have expected it to operate much smoother than that. It made me miss the old Massey. I went to use it for the first time this past weekend and the light on the dash would come on but the PTO will not engage. If the PTO safety switch is bad would that also keep the PTO from engaging. I couldn't get it started so my car mechanic buddy came out to take a look. I have a bad cable so I wasn't getting power to the starter but even after that was corrected it still wouldn't start. He figures there is a bad switch somewhere but was going to have to find a wiring diagram to figure out where they were at and how many there are. We got it started by jumping it directly at the starter. I was going to run my tiller while I had it running but when I engaged the PTO I got nothing.
