Hello, I'm here again to report on my "steering problem". I did some loader work this weekend with the TC48, and now with my reinforced ballast box loaded with a bit over 1000 pounds of lead bricks, and steel blocks. I'm very happy to report that the tractor steers fine, even with a heaped bucket of either #57 stone, or earth. I must also report that Bad Dog is absolutely right, this loader is extremely powerful, and I believe that a bucket 30% larger could be hung off the front, and the tractor would still fill it, and pick it up. I am impressed with it's ability to heap the bucket up, lift it, and travel around without even the slightest problem. I purposely stopped the tractor and worked the steering to see if the front R4s would respond. They did, and it steers like the IH3444. I guess just some serious ballast was needed at the rear, along with the loaded tires. The tractor is a joy to drive, and doesn't work me as hard as the IH3444. I am still going to cast a rear concrete block in the 1500-1800 pound range, but for now this 1000 pounds is working great. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's good to be right!

Be careful with that loader or you'll be bending your lift links, now that you have enough ballast to hold what the loader can handle. The lift links are the next weak 'link' in the chain.
