TC48DA vs. TC55DA

Looks like I need to put a little more effort into a prefilter solution and not give up so easy. We could all take advantage of it. Maybe I can use a smaller filter than what I've been thinking about.

I agree Mel, I was also thinking of rerouting the exhaust out the back. I want to get this done before starting on any serious digging projects. I was concerned also about the exhaust blowing up the dust. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Digging? Try driving around my place which has about 3000 feet of dirt roads and 1400 feet of gravel road. No rain most of this year = huge dust storms at crusiing speed. And thanks to the exhaust it's in my face.

But I will say, I rented a different color machine two years ago and it had a straight up exhaust on a compact. @30hp machine. That was not good, as the exhaust stack did not go high enough and anytime the machine idled I about dropped dead.....

There is always something to gripe about!

Mel, that's why I put the exhaust on my IH3444 higher up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thats ok, New Holland blue is Durham (Devil)Blue. Not Chaple Hill Blue.

I'm thinking I'll not shelter the new tractor and let it "weather" outside. The paint will eventually fade to the perfect color of blue. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would like to thank everyone for their input and information. I finally made up my mind and put a down payment on a TC48 yesterday. After waivering between the two models, I decided that the extra money for the extra horsepower just wasn't worth it for me. I decided that I could use the money I saved on the TC48 to buy more toys /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif - I mean - tools. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wound up ordering the TC48 with ag tires, two rear remotes, 18LA fel, grill guard and toothbar. In my area, there are few of 48's and 55's on the lots. In fact, I think I helped this dealer along by showing some interest in the 48 he had on the lot as another customer who had been looking at that tractor made the purchase the same day I test drove it. That was okay as it had industrial tires and had been on the lot for several months. So the dealer ordered me a new one, which was okay by me. I had to pay a little more in price, but I'll be getting a brand new one right off the line.

The only bad thing is now the waiting. The dealer indicated it'll be 3 weeks or so before delivery. Plenty of time to Monday morning quarterback my decision. Sure would be nice to be using it while we're having some good, warm weather. But that's the way it goes.

I'll update more when I get a delivery date. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and tips.

Tarheel,
You'll enjoy your tractor!!! Just got back from 2 wks playing with mine and my new grapple (Unlimited Fabrications)....LOVE IT!!!! ONE NOTE of CAUTION!!!!! I had the grille guard installed and had a major problem.....the grille guard was bumped by a stump which should have protected everything right????? WRONG.....because the latch pins on the grille guard gave away under pressure and just absolutely came unlatched, my grille guard just hinged backwards right toward my tractor and crushed a headlight, grille, and busted the hood!!!! Uggggggggggg!!!!!!!! The dealer agrees it shouldn't have just came unlatched like that so their going to try to get it warrantied but who knows....that'll probably won't happen, l'll let you know. They needed to weld a stop where the guard wouldn't be able to hinge the opposite way. Live and learn huh????
